      First in Support across the European Theater
     


    MISSION:  21st Theater Sustainment Command executes mission command of operational sustainment across European theater; conducts Reception, Staging, Onward movement and Integration; sets the Atlantic Resolve joint operation area; executes theater opening, theater distribution, and theater sustainment in support of U.S. European Command and NATO operations; and, as directed executes joint security  and support to U.S. Africa Command operations. 


    VISION: Team 21 achieves something bigger than the sum of our pieces. We are capable of integrating with the Joint Logistics Enterprise, our NATO Allies and Partners. Team 21 is a NATO ready, theater responsive, Soldier-focused, cohesive team providing scalable mission command and sustainment capabilities to combatant commanders and Regionally Aligned Forces in an increasingly complex environment. 

    KEY TASKS:

    • Set the theater for U.S. Army Europe and EUCOM operations and plans
    • Plan, prepare, coordinate, and execute theater sustainment in the European Theater
    • Integrate with the NATO Allies and Partners in the planning and execution of NATO logistics operations
    • Identify communications requirements to support RSOI, and sustainment operations in European theater
    • Develop sustainment concepts that account for adversary capabilities
    • Plan Joint Security Area operations

    The Army Vision released on June 6, 2018, states that near-peer threats "will increasingly challenge the United States and our allies in Europe, the Middle East, and the Indo-Pacific region." Conceivably, future conflict may consist of large-scale operations across multiple continents similar to what the world experienced during the two world wars. 

    Our resource- and sustainment-dependent forces will rely on rapid resupply to the forward line of troops to execute all phases of the operation.
