Michael S. Amarosa, Civilian Deputy

Mr. Michael S. Amarosa is a native of Utica, New York and has been a civilian leader within the Department of Defense since 1997.  Mr. Amarosa’s civilian career includes service to the United States Marine Corps and the United States Army.  His experiences and accomplishments encompass numerous levels of operations at the tactical, operational and strategic levels.

In serving as the Executive Civilian Deputy to the Commanding General for 21st TSC, he is responsible to support the direction and administration of the strategies, objectives, and operations of theater sustainment priorities in Europe and Africa, through leading, integrating, synchronizing, and prioritizing operations in the specific areas of logistics support and planning, data analysis and innovation, human resources, finance, military pay, internal review and compliance (audit readiness), prevention programs, safety, military construction, and all senior responsible officer duties in support of base operations in both a forward deployed and garrison environment. Mr. Amarosa leads multiple innovation initiatives and supports the leadership of over 13K personnel that are geographically located on 40 different installations in nine countries.

Mr. Amarosa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Mercy College, Master of Arts in Security Management from Webster University, and a Master’s Certificate in Public Administration from the University of Virginia.  In addition, he has completed the professional development at the Civilian Education System (CES) at the Army Management Staff College through the Senior Leaders program and is an alumnus of the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies.  Mr. Amarosa proudly served as a member in the U.S. Army Expeditionary Civilian Workforce.

Mr. Amarosa is married to the former MarieJanelle Espiritu of Lahaina, Hawaii.  They have 3 children, Kayleigh, Gabriella and Gianni.
