Col. William Prince, Chief of Staff

Col. Prince was born in Shelby, Mississippi. He began his military career as an enlisted Soldier in 1999, stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia, with the 104th Transportation Company.

He attended and graduated from Officer Candidate School (OCS) on 11 April 2001 and was commissioned into the Army Transportation Corps.

Col. Prince has a Bachelor of Science degree from Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi, a Master of Arts Degree in Procurement and Acquisitions Management from Webster University and a Master of Strategic Studies from the Army War College. COL Prince is currently assigned as the Army Support Activity Commander for Soto Cano AB, Honduras.

Col. Prince past assignments include the following: Platoon Leader, 497 Transportation Company, Fort Lewis, WA. Executive Officer, 25th Transportation Battalion, Yongsan, Korea. Assistant Battalion S3, S3, Alpha Company Commander, Fort   Lewis, WA, 4-2 Stryker Brigade Combat Team (SBCT). Battalion S3, 2-337 Training Support Battalion, Camp Atterbury, Indiana. 4-25 BLST (Brigade Logistical Support Team) Team Chief, Anchorage, Alaska. Battalion S3, 839 Transportation Battalion (SDDC), Pisa, Italy.

Col. Prince served as the Operations Chief, 598th Transportation BDE (SDDC). Transportation OIC, 21 TSC G4, CG’S XO, 21 TSC, Kaiserslautern Germany. Center for Army Lessons Learned Analysis, Fort Bragg, NC. Battalion Commander, 838 Transportation Battalion, Kaiserslautern Germany, Deputy Support Operations Officer, Honolulu, Hawaii, the Army War College (resident course), Carlisle Barracks, PA and the Director of Plans and Operations at DLA Troop Support, Philadelphia, PA.

His deployments consist of Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom twice in 2003 and 2011. Operation Iraqi Freedom, LTC Prince deployed to Iraq for a 15-month rotation in 2007. Afghanistan in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel in 2018.

Col. Prince’s military education includes the Transportation Officer Basic Course, Combined Logistics Captains Career Course, and US Army Command and General Staff College and the Army War College (resident).

Col. Prince awards and decorations include the Bronze Star (1OLC), the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (4OLC), the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Combat Action Badge, and the Parachutist Badge.

Col. Prince is married to Ciana Prince of Frankfurt, Germany. They have four children, Ayana, Amira, Anisa, and Aaliyah.
