Command Sgt. Maj. Denice Malave assumed responsibilities as the senior enlisted leader of the 21st Theater Sustainment Command December 5, 2024.
Command Sgt. Maj. Denice M. Malave was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and raised in Lacey, Washington. She began her Army career on May 5, 1998, at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and completed advanced individual training at Fort Gregg-Adams (formerly Fort Lee), Virginia, where she was awarded the military occupational specialty 92A (Automated Logistical Specialist).
CSM Malave’s duty assignments include Fort Liberty (formerly Fort Bragg), North Carolina, as a Human Resource Technician, Operations Non-Commissioned Officer, and Platoon Sergeant; Camp Stanley, Korea, as a Material Management Supervisor with 2nd Combat Aviation Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division; Fort Carson, Colorado, as an Operations NCO and First Sergeant with 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne); Fort Bliss, Texas, at the United States Army Sergeants Major Course; Fort Stewart, Georgia, as the Support Operations Sergeant Major with the 3d Infantry Division Sustainment Brigade; Fort Carson, Colorado, as the Command Sergeant Major for the Group Support Battalion, 10th SFG(A); and again at Fort Stewart as the Command Sergeant Major for the Division Sustainment Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division. Her most recent assignment was Command Sergeant Major for U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart. CSM Malave has deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Inherent Resolve.
CSM Malave has completed all levels within the Noncommissioned Officers Education System, culminating with the Nominative Leaders Course. She is a graduate of the Brigade and Battalion Pre-Command Course, Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education Course, Battle Staff Course, Master Resiliency Trainer Course, USASOC Jumpmaster Course, Support Operations Course, Joint Logistics Course and Airborne School. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Excelsior University and a Master’s Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Her awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit (2OLC), Bronze Star (2OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (3OLC) and numerous other awards and decorations. She is also a member of the Distinguished Order of Saint Martin.
She has two sons, Jayme and Jaloni.
